You’ll visit the following major cultural and spiritual landmarks:
Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple)
Perched atop a hill overlooking the city, Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, is one of Nepal’s oldest and most sacred Buddhist sites. The complex features a large whitewashed stupa, ancient shrines and temples, a Tibetan monastery, a museum, and a library. The highlight is the panoramic 360-degree view of Kathmandu Valley, making this a perfect place to begin your day of exploration.

Pashupatinath Temple
Located along the banks of the holy Bagmati River, Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Non-Hindus are not allowed inside the main temple, but visitors can clearly observe the temple complex and its fascinating rituals, cremation ceremonies, and spiritual atmosphere from across the river.

Boudhanath Stupa
Built in the 5th century, the massive Boudhanath Stupa is a revered Buddhist site and one of the largest stupas in Asia. It features a central white dome with a golden spire and the iconic Buddha eyes gazing in all four directions, symbolizing wisdom and compassion. Patan Durbar Square – The City of Fine Arts

Most of the architectural wonders here were built between the 14th and 18th centuries, showcasing the artistic excellence of the era. Patan is often referred to as the City of Fine Arts for good reason.

Kathmandu Durbar Square (Optional Walk to Thamel)
After your visit to Patan, on your way back to your hotel, your driver will drop you at Kathmandu Durbar Square (if your hotel is in Thamel). From here, you can enjoy a short walking tour through the lively and historic Asan bazaar, one of the oldest markets in Kathmandu.

At Kathmandu Durbar Square, you’ll discover:
• Pagoda-style temples dating from the 12th to 18th centuries
• The former royal palace, now a museum
• The historic Kashthamandap — the structure that gave Kathmandu its name
• The residence of the Living Goddess Kumari

Your unforgettable adventure begins with a scenic 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, one of Nepal’s most thrilling mountain flights. From the moment the plane soars over the towering peaks, you’ll be treated to breathtaking Himalayan panoramas. Landing on the short, mountaintop runway at Lukla marks the official start of your trek to Everest Base Camp.

After a brief rest and meeting your trekking team, you’ll begin your first day on the trail with a gentle, half-day trek to Phakding. The route winds alongside the Dudh Koshi River through lush valleys, traditional stone villages, and terraced farms, all framed by snow-capped peaks. This walk is a perfect way to ease into your Himalayan journey as you soak in the fresh mountain air and stunning scenery. You’ll spend the night in Phakding, preparing for the exciting days ahead.

Leaving Phakding behind, your trail crosses the rushing Dudh Koshi River via a steel cable suspension bridge framed by towering pine forests. Along the way, keep a lookout for local wildlife, including yaks that share this rugged path.

Soon, you’ll enter the renowned Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich biodiversity, including elusive snow leopards and rare red pandas. At Monjo, you’ll stop to register your trekking permits before beginning a challenging but rewarding climb to Namche Bazaar.

If the skies are clear, you might catch your first breathtaking view of Mount Everest rising majestically in the distance. After the steep ascent, you’ll reach Namche Bazaar — the vibrant heart of the Khumbu region. This historic trading hub has long been a crossroads for Hindu traders and Tibetan yak caravans, and today, it’s a lively melting pot of cultures, complete with quaint shops and even an Irish pub. Enjoy some time here to rest, explore, and prepare for the days ahead.

Today is a well-earned rest and acclimatization day in the vibrant Sherpa hub of Namche Bazaar. This bustling mountain town is the largest settlement in the Khumbu region and offers all modern conveniences including cafés, bakeries, gear shops, and internet access. Although it's a rest day, a short acclimatization hike is highly recommended. We ascend to the Everest View Hotel, where a panorama of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam awaits. From there, we continue to the traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung. This cultural walk offers an enriching experience into Sherpa lifestyles, their monasteries, and even a local school established by Sir Edmund Hillary.

Leaving Namche behind, the trail gradually climbs above the Dudh Koshi River. We'll stop in Kayangjuma for tea with stunning views of Ama Dablam, then reach the trail junction separating the routes to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Valley. Ascending through Mong La, we enjoy lunch with epic Himalayan vistas before descending through rhododendron forests to Phortse Tenga. A final uphill climb takes us through waterfalls and forest trails to the quiet village of Dole.

Today’s hike is shorter and scenic. We gradually ascend a ridge to reach Lhabarma and Luza, passing seasonal yak herder settlements and enjoying stunning views of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku. The trail follows the valley side with views of the deep Dudh Koshi Gorge far below. We reach the peaceful village of Machhermo, known for its beautiful glacial stream and the legendary tales of the Yeti. The afternoon is free for rest or a short walk around.

The trail climbs steadily up a ridge offering panoramic views of Kangtega, Thamserku, and Cho-Oyu. After passing a chorten and the settlement of Pangka, we descend to the river and begin a steep ascent beside the Ngozumpa Glacier. Along the way, we pass the tranquil lakes of Longpongo and Taboche Tsho before arriving at Dudh Pokhari. Nestled beside the third and largest lake lies the picturesque village of Gokyo, framed by the towering face of Cho-Oyu.

An early morning climb to Gokyo Ri rewards you with one of the finest views in the Everest region. From the summit, take in an awe-inspiring panorama of four of the world’s tallest peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho-Oyu. Below, Gokyo’s turquoise lakes shimmer beside the Ngozumpa Glacier—the longest in Nepal. After descending, enjoy a warm breakfast and spend the rest of the day exploring the high-altitude beauty of Gokyo Valley or relaxing at one of the world’s highest bakeries.

Today, we cross the Ngozumpa Glacier to reach the small settlement of Thagnak. The path winds over rocky moraine, with stunning glacier views and peaks in every direction. It’s a shorter trekking day, allowing time to rest and acclimatize for tomorrow's challenging Cho La Pass crossing.

One of the most demanding but rewarding days, we begin early with a steep ascent through rugged terrain. The trail leads us over icy paths and across the stunning Cho La Pass, which is often covered in snow. From the top, you'll be surrounded by mountain giants including Ama Dablam and Cholatse. After celebrating your achievement, we descend carefully over a glacier and rocky slopes to the peaceful village of Dzongla.

Today’s route is relatively short and gentle, offering time to relax and recover from the previous day’s effort. The path follows grassy slopes with stunning views of Lobuche Peak. We'll cross a small glacial stream and walk through the wide river valley before arriving in Lobuche, our overnight stop before reaching Everest Base Camp.

The journey continues along the Khumbu Glacier’s rocky moraine as we trek to Gorak Shep. After checking in at the teahouse, we make our final push to Everest Base Camp—the ultimate destination. Walk alongside glacial rivers and ice formations as you reach the legendary starting point for Everest summit expeditions. Spend time soaking in the majesty of the Himalayas before returning to Gorak Shep for the night.

Wake up early for a sunrise hike to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint for Mount Everest. Witness the golden glow over Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and the vast Khumbu Glacier. After breakfast back at Gorak Shep, we begin our descent, retracing our steps through Lobuche and descending to the lower-altitude village of Pheriche for the night.

Today’s descent takes you through some of the most beautiful forested landscapes of the Khumbu. We retrace our steps past the village of Pangboche and continue to Tengboche, home to the famous monastery with panoramic Himalayan views. Along the way, pass through birch and rhododendron forests teeming with birds and wildlife. At Phunki Tenga, marvel at the unique prayer wheels powered by flowing water before climbing the final switchbacks that lead back to the bustling hub of Namche Bazaar.

The final leg of your trek brings you full circle. Descending steeply through pine forests and crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, you'll pass familiar villages like Monjo and Phakding. After a day of scenic trekking and reflection, you’ll arrive in Lukla, where your journey began. Tonight, celebrate your incredible achievement with your team—perhaps with a local Sherpa drink like "Chang" and traditional mountain hospitality.

After breakfast, board a scenic flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying one last glimpse of the snow-capped peaks from above. Once in the capital, the rest of the day is yours to explore. Visit any remaining cultural sites, enjoy a relaxing massage, or stroll through the lively streets of Thamel for souvenir shopping and local delicacies. Reflect on your journey through the Everest region and soak in the energy of Kathmandu one last time.
