День 1. Drive to Sundrijal and Trek to Chisapani (2,135m)
Your Chisapani Nagarkot Hiking in Nepal adventure begins with a scenic one-hour drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, situated at an elevation of approximately 1,350 meters. This small hillside town is the gateway to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park and marks the starting point of your hike.

From Sundarijal, the trail climbs steadily alongside the Bagmati River, passing through small Tamang and Brahmin villages where the rural way of life offers a stark contrast to the bustle of Kathmandu. As you ascend, you'll encounter lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and a dam that serves as a water source for the Kathmandu Valley.

Your first major stop is Mulkharka, a charming village perched on the ridge, offering sweeping views of the Kathmandu Valley below. This is where you'll pause for lunch and enjoy the fresh mountain air and quiet countryside setting. Beyond Mulkharka, the path continues through dense forests of oak and rhododendron within Shivapuri National Park—home to over 400 species of birds and around 200 species of mammals and other wildlife.

As the trail winds higher, you’ll reach Shivapuri Hill—the highest point of the trek at 2,729 meters, also locally known as Shivapuri Pass. The ridge offers spectacular glimpses of Himalayan peaks and tranquil forest surroundings.

From the top, it's an easy descent of about 1.5 hours to the peaceful hill village of Chisapani (2,135m), where you’ll spend the night. Chisapani is known for its peaceful atmosphere, refreshing mountain air, and breathtaking views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges—especially magical at sunset.
День 2. Trek to Nagarkot (2,175m)
Wake up early in Chisapani to one of the most breathtaking sunrise views near the Kathmandu Valley. On clear Himalayan mornings, you’ll witness an unforgettable spectacle—the golden rays of the sun illuminating a vast Himalayan panorama. Among the visible peaks are five of the world’s fourteen highest mountains, including parts of Mount Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Cho Oyu (8,201m), Makalu (8,463m), and Manaslu (8,163m), along with other majestic peaks such as Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Gaurishankar, and many more.

After soaking in the magical morning view with a warm cup of tea, you’ll enjoy breakfast and begin your next day of hiking. The trail starts gently, offering a relaxed walk for the first 2.5 hours through lush forests and terraced farmland, with the Himalayan range quietly trailing along the horizon.

You’ll then begin a gradual descent of about 1 hour to reach the small village of Jhule, where you’ll stop for a well-earned lunch. Post-lunch, continue hiking with a short 30-minute downhill walk to reach Chauki Bhanjyang.

From here, the trail is mostly flat, passing through scenic rural landscapes, quiet farmlands, and traditional villages for another 2 hours. The final stretch involves a 30-minute uphill climb to reach the beautiful hill station of Nagarkot (2,175m)—a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Nagarkot is best known for its panoramic Himalayan views and dramatic sunrises and sunsets, which you can admire straight from your hotel balcony. The view includes a sweeping range of peaks—Everest, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Gaurishankar, and more—making this a perfect end to your scenic day of trekking.
День 3. Trek to Changu Narayan Temple and Drive to Kathmandu (1,400m)
Begin your final day with a peaceful breakfast in Nagarkot, soaking in the last panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas. With the rising sun casting golden hues over the distant peaks, it's the perfect moment to reflect on your trekking journey before heading back to the Kathmandu Valley.

Today’s trail takes you along a scenic ridgeline, offering a balance of gentle forest walks and open hillside trails. As you hike through serene community forests, terraced farmlands, and quaint villages, you’ll enjoy continuous views of the Himalayan range to the north and the bustling Kathmandu Valley opening up to the south.

After a few hours of leisurely trekking, you’ll reach the sacred site of Changu Narayan Temple—a cultural and spiritual highlight of the journey. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and adorned with beautiful stone carvings and rich Newari architecture.

After exploring this historical treasure, your trip concludes with a comfortable drive back to Kathmandu in a private vehicle. Enjoy the ride through the scenic countryside, arriving back in the capital by late afternoon with memories of the mountains, culture, and peaceful trails etched forever in your heart.

Complete visa information to enter Nepal.

A visa for Nepal can be obtained on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and at the border entry points in Kakadvitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Gaddachowki on the Nepal-India border, and Kodari and Rashuwagadi on the Nepal-China border.

Outside of Nepal, A visa can also be obtained at the nearest Nepal Embassy or Diplomatic Mission.

To renew a Visa you can go to the Department of Immigration, Kalikasthan, and Kathmandu.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

A valid Passport and 1 Passport-size photo.

Visa can be obtained only through payment of cash in the following currency: Euro, Swiss Franc, Pound Sterling, US Dollcurrenciesralian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar and Japanese Yen.

Credit cards, Indian currency, and Nepali currency are not accepted as payment of visa fees

The following visa fees have come into effect from 17 July 2019 (as per the Nepal Government's decision made on 26 May 2019.

Please follow these simple procedures for a Tourist Visa on Arrival at the airport (TIA) if you have not acquired a Visa prior to boarding the plane.

1 st Step

Fill in the ' Arrival Card'

Fill in the Online ' Tourist Visa ' form (you can fill it up prior to your arrival by visiting our official website Department of Immigration / fill it up using Kiosk machines upon your arrival at the airport). If you fill it out from the website, you will get a submission Receipt with a barcode, please print it out and bring it along for acquiring a visa. It works for fifteen days and becomes invalid then after. If so, you will have to fill it up again.

2nd Step

Make payment at the bank according to your visa requirement (15/30/90 Days)

While you can use different modes of payments (at the visa fees collection counter), we advise you to carry some cash to be on the safe side.

3rd Step

Proceed to the Immigration Desk with your online form, payment receipts, and your passport. Hand in your documents to the immigration officer for visa processing.
