We depart early for the Pashupatinath Temple, located approximately 5.3 km from Thamel (around 20 minutes by drive). This ancient and sacred Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Darshan hours are from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, while special puja rituals are conducted from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

After enjoying an early breakfast at your hotel, your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra officially begins with a scenic overland drive toward the Nepal–Tibet border region. Our experienced trekking guide and support staff will assist you in loading your luggage and preparing for the road journey.

Today’s destination will be either Syabrubesi or Timure, depending on road conditions and driving time.

We begin the journey following the Prithvi Highway, heading west from Kathmandu to Galchi, and then turning north along the Trishuli River. The road offers captivating views of rivers, terraced hillsides, and distant snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

As the altitude gradually increases, the warm lowlands give way to the cool climate of Rasuwa District. After several hours of winding roads, we arrive at Dhunche, a charming town often recognized as the starting point of the sacred Gosaikunda Lake Trek.

From Dhunche, the drive continues for another 50 minutes through hilly terrain to reach Syabrubesi, a small but significant town that also serves as the trailhead for treks like the Langtang Valley Trek, Tamang Heritage Trail, and Ganesh Himal Trek.

After clearing Chinese immigration, we begin our short drive toward Kerung Town (also spelled Kyirong), your first overnight stop in Tibet.

Saga is a bustling military town and a logistical hub for travelers en route to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Upon arrival, your guide will assist with check-in at your accommodation. Enjoy a freshly cooked dinner and rest well in preparation for tomorrow’s journey toward Lake Mansarovar, one of the most sacred lakes in Asia.
